When considering choosing a home one of the most important considerations is activity and stimulation. We aim to create the right environment which supports physical and mental well-being.
Activities are a cornerstone of our holistic approach to care and our full time activities coordinator arranges a weekly activities schedule to provide mental stimulation, physical stimulation, social interaction, and manual dexterity. These are designed to improve or maintain levels of cognitive development and function, physical condition, self-esteem and interaction.
Our mental stimulation activities include reminiscence activities, orientation games, quizzes, an extensive library, personal choice of daily newspapers and choice of music in all communal areas.
Our clients enjoy the following physical stimulation: music to movement, floor target games, ball games, access to our beautiful tranquil grounds.
It is important that our clients are able to interact socially and we therefore encourage them to participate in: Resident Committee Meetings; shopping trips; visits to the theatre; cinema; garden centre's and local pubs; contact with local community centre's; contact with local schools; and monthly in house church service and communion.
In order to maintain manual dexterity our clients are offered a wide range of activities including indoor board games, jigsaw puzzles, arts and crafts, cake decorating and much more. We provide access to a computer.
We also provide a tuck shop so that clients can enjoy the accessibility of in house shopping.
