Care Home Activities

We pride ourselves on the quality of our in-house activities. We have full time residential care home  activity coordinators  who provide an innovative, stimulating and diverse weekly programme. Regular residents’ meetings are held in order to give each individual the opportunity to voice their suggestions for the continued smooth-running of their Home.

We have regular external entertainers who visit, as well as monthly seasonal themed activities. In order to maintain links to the community, we arrange outings to the theatre, museums, restaurants and local shops among many other excursions.

Providing varied and engaging activities for our service users is integral to daily life at Moundsley Hall Care Village. We provide a range of activities for the elderly in a care homes Birmingham , as well as opportunities for younger clientele who, we distinguish as having varied desires and social needs. Our friendly and outgoing activity coordinators provide a programme of wide-ranging opportunities and activities to do in a care home each month to appeal to a range of tastes, interests and abilities. Regular  residential care home activities include flower arranging, reminiscence groups and cake baking. In addition to our in-house activities, our tranquil and expansive grounds provide a wonderful environment for those who enjoy getting a breath of fresh air and stretching their legs.

As part of our person-centred approach, we encourage residents to share their likes, dislikes and interests so we can support them in maintaining their passions, as well as putting them in touch with others (both within the home and outside of it) who may share the same zeal. We pride ourselves on our connections to those in the local community and encourage our residents to maintain these important bonds. Individuals can look forward to a number of opportunities to meet, engage and enjoy visiting singers, theatre production groups performing pantomimes and variety shows, visiting pet therapy animals and guided chair exercise groups for those looking to maintain their fitness. Seasonal fetes and coffee mornings are held across the year, providing the opportunity for our residents to come and enjoy a hot drink, a cake and an opportunity to chat to other residents, family, friends and staff members.

Bespoke opportunities for residents to enjoy days away from the care home environment are provided across the year; residents have previously had the opportunity to travel to local attractions, spend summer afternoons in country parks and engage with cultural attractions such as museums and zoological gardens. Residents are consistently encouraged to be involved with the day to day running of the care home environment. We welcome residents and their loved ones to join with monthly meetings to discuss all aspects of their experiences and to be instrumental in how we move forward in planning activities, events and the care provision they wish to receive. Activities for the elderly are at the heart of how we support residents at Moundsley Hall Care Village, and the opportunities and engagements we provide are ever evolving and tailored to provide the very best experience for our clients. Care home activities for the elderly are rewarding and a very fulfilling role for both the employee and the residents.
